What does it cover?

With tightening budgets, schools and nurseries are on the ever-increasing look-out to add value to their settings without breaking the bank.

Luckily, this is extremely achievable. With imagination and the right inspiration, settings can create an outstanding outside environment with very little spending.

This course presents multiple economical resources and ideas to bring learning outdoors to life.

What is its aim?

  1. A plan to enhance or set up a quality outdoor area
  2. Numerous strategies and ideas to bring quality learning into their setting in many curriculum areas including literacy, phonics, mark-making, maths, and physical development
  3. Learn where to find or source resources
  4. How to set up engaging outdoor learning areas
  5. How to find quality but economic outdoor core provision
  6. How to enhance core provision with exciting activities and provocations

What is its content?

 

A sneak peak inside the course…

Attendees will explore a range of exciting mark-making strategies that are engaging to a wide range of children.

How to add multiple maths resources into your setting, such as chalkboard ten frames, or giant keys for number bonds.

Try out a range of outdoor phonic resources, made from natural and found objects.

Explore resources that can be used in extreme weather conditions.

Discover some great ideas for setting up core provision that children will continual benefit from.

Who Delivers This Course?

 

This session is led by Debby Stevens. Debby is the author of ‘Loose Parts Play – A Beginner’s Guide’. She has worked in the early years for over 25 years, managing a large team in a chain of private day nurseries. You can read her full biography here. 

Prices For Inhouse Courses

 

All of our courses are available as inhouse training sessions, delivered in an identical way to the open training courses. Sessions normally last 2 hours, although they could be shortened or lengthened depending on your needs. Courses could be delivered to a very small number of staff, or for as many as you like. The courses work really well as twilights because they are fun, practical and hands-on, the perfect formula for practitioners that will have been working all day. We can deliver all courses as INSET days, school staff meetings, or nursery twilights.

Price for a 2 hour training session after school/twilight – £275 (+VAT)

Price for a 2 hour training session in morning or afternoon – £325 (+VAT)

Full day inhouse training session – £550 (+VAT)

This price includes up to 20 staff. After this there is an extra charge of £15 a head. 

There is a £50 charge for training courses that take place more than a 1 hour drive from the trainer’s residence. There is a £125 charge for training taking place more than a 2 hour drive from the trainer’s residence. These charges are just for travel and potential hotel costs.
